Fernández Castelló, Luis

Luis Fernández Castello was born in Valencia -Spain-. He completed his clarinet degree with Honours studying at the “Conservatorio Superior de Valencia” with Professor José Cerveró where he obtained Extraordinary Prize of Clarinet. He took part in a Zaragoza’s Master with clarinettists such Wenzel Fuchs, Joan Enric Lluna, Fabrizio Meloni and François Benda, an Ancient Music Master with Lorenzo Coppola and a Music Master at Valencia’s University. He also attend several courses with important clarinettists like José Vicente Herrera, Reinhard Wieser, Karl Leister, Enrique Pérez, Miguel Espejo, Eduard Brunner, Joan Enric Lluna, Anthony Pay, Sylvie Hue, Matthias Glander, José Luis Estellés, Sabine Meyer, Michael Rusinek…
He has belonged to Youth Orchestra of Valencia (JOGV), Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE), Ibero American Youth Orchestra (OJI), Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra (JMWO), between others. He has also collaborated with Madrid Symphony Orchestra, Valencia Orchestra, Group Instrumental of Valencia, Morocco Philharmonic Orchestra, Valencia Symphony Orchestra, Music Art´s. XXI Ensemble, Mixtur Ensemble, and some others. He has worked with conductors like Jesús López Cobos, Christian Zacharias, Eliahu Inbal, Gustavo Dudamel, Manuel Galduf, Patrick Davin, Edmon Colomer, Yaron Traub, Josep Pons… He has collaborated, as orchestral musician and recitalist, at the most important concert halls in Europe - Spain, Portugal, France, Greece, Holland, Italy, Belgium etc. - In his country, Spain, he has performed in Catalonia’s Palau de la Música, Valencia’s Palau de la Música, Madrid’s Auditorio Nacional de Música.
He has performed at important festivals premiering more than 100 works of Spanish and international composers. Some of them were written for himself.
He has obtained the 2nd prize of Young Musicians of Spain, between some others national and international important prices. He has performed more than 250 concerts like a soloist, a chamber musician and orchestral musician.
Nowadays he performs as chamber music, with the pianist Antonio Galera: Dúo Fernández-Galera. He has recorded for labels Transópera or Deutsche Grammophone.
