Galiana Gallach, Josep Lluís

Josep Lluís Galiana Gallach, saxophonist, improviser and composer, born in Valencia (Spain). Saxophone’s teacher at the Conservatorio Superior de Música in Valencia, is a musician who has been trained in various aesthetic trends and musical genres such as contemporary music, electro acoustics, jazz and the blues and motion picture music.
He has performed and recorded with internationally renowned musicians such Agustí Fernández, Gregorio Jiménez, Vicent Gómez, Sisco Aparici, Ramón López, José Manuel Berenguer, Andreas Mniestris, Theodore Lotis, David Herrington, Liba Villavecchia…
He has taken part and performed in the most important festivals and concert halls such X Internacional Festival of Electroacoustic Music Ionian Academie of Kerkyra (Greece) 2010; IDKA International Festival in Spegeln/ Gävle (Sweden) ‘10, VI Festival Internacional de Música Carmelo Bernaola ‘09 (Centro-Museo Vasco de Arte Contemporáneo Atrium, Vitoria-Gasteiz); Punto de Encuentro Canarias 2009 (Auditorio de Tenerife); Centro Cultural España-Córdoba (Argentina); Fundació Miró (Barcelona); Fylkingen-Stockholm and Gävle Theatre (Sweden); Synthèse 2008, 38th International Festival of Electronic Music and Creation in Bourges (France); 14th and 15th Meeting Point International Electroacoustic Festival 2007 and 2008 (AMEE), where he performed his electroacoustic miniature Gavaliana; 1st Aielo-Música a la Tardor International Festival in 2008 (Valencia), where his piano score Out of order was performed (assignment from the IVM-Valencia regional parliament); 15th Audio Art 2007 Festival (Krakow, Poland); l’Aula d’Altres Músiques 2007, where he performed BSO Nanuk, el Esquimal (assignment from the IVM-Valencian parliament); High Season Festival (Gerona); 11th International festival for Electroacoustic Music Spring 2006 in La Habana (Cuba); Fosques-ONCE Jazz Festival, 1997 and 1998; Permanent Electroacoustic Creation Seminar, organised by the Electroacoustic Laboratory from the Valencian Advanced Music Conservatory and the Club Diario Levante, etc.
As well, he has premiered compositions of many contemporary composers, like Adolfo Núñez, Gonzalo Biffarella, Thomas Bjelkeborn, Johan Sundberg, Dani Flors, Jesús Salvador “Chapi”, Gregorio Jiménez, Rodrigo Sigal, Andreas Mniestris…
He has recorded for the Classical Music Channel-RTVE-Digital Channel; RNEClassical Radio, Levante-TV, RTVV and RNE-Radio 3, and for Marmita-Música Viva, Artics Produccions, AMEE, Cambra Records and Intertecno 2000 CD labels.
